Our team has 32 people.</p> <p>Every now and then people talk about religion coz we have Christians, few Muslims and few Hindus. I hate arguing with them so I try to avoid when they talk about religion. </p> <p>But few days ago some tried to drag me during an argument. I got tired of arguing with them. So I got an idea and declared myself as God. </p> <p>That was the best thing coz I used every statement they normally use against them.</p> <p>How can you prove that you are the God?</p> <p>You&#39;ve to believe it to know.</p> <p>Who made you God?</p> <p>Me, coz I&#39;m God. </p> <p>Can you do this? can you do that?</p> <p>Yes</p> <p>Then do this?</p> <p>Who are you to command the God? I&#39;ll do it if I want to.</p> <p>I don&#39;t believe that you&#39;re a God.</p> <p>Don&#39;t be an atheist. It&#39;s coz of atheists like you, Earth is facing all the problems like Global warming. </p> <p>That was the best one. They got pissed when I called them atheist. I was arguing against 8 people and others were watching. </p> <p>Since then they stopped arguing with me. Especially my Muslim colleagues, they stopped talking to me. And some of my friends started calling me God. At a dinner last night my family started talking about the Bible, I never said anything just started cleaning up. Well my uncle then decides to corner my kids (20 and 17) asking them what they think. My son told him that he has never read it so he come yelling and saying that my children are going to hell cause I won’t make them read it. I tell him that I don’t believe in it and I wasn’t putting faith in a book that was written by a man then later rewritten by another man in times when women had no voice. That the Bible seems to give men reasons to mistreat their wives. He then proceeds to tell me that I will be going to hell. The melodies are depressing but in a good way that keep you hooked. The guitars, strings, and Andy Partridge’s vocal performance.</p> <p>I remember the first time that I heard it just how shocked I was, questioning my faith/ beliefs. Paleonthalogists have found many evidence and done great deal of studies. </p> <p>Evolution is undeniably true and I bet 99% of biologists and ecologists would deny the creation story made by the Bible. Even when I was a serious devout Christian, I had left out the origin story intentionally out of my head somewhere deep down so I didn&#39;t ponder about it. She was there with her cousin who is major Qnon and antivaxx person. My client friend is to a lesser degree but mostly just due her cousin constantly feeding her crap she finds online. The family is christian but not necessarily evangelical but her cousin does hold some evangelical level beliefs. Anyway we were just making smalltalk. And her cousin mentioned her 87 mother had recently had eyelid surgery to fix severely drooping eyelids and about a week later had a stroke which caused her right side to become paralyzed to a major degree and she couldn&#39;t walk, speak and lost vision in one eye. </p> <p>Long story short she said her brother who she said was a nonbeliever and thus for what makes no sense to me at all decided to watch the 700 Club and told her that during their regular episode segment where they pray for people the person who I assume was Pat Robertson said that he saw someone who had complications from eye surgery and that he would pray for them to be healed. She said that within days after her mothers symptoms from the stroke began to improve and regained a lot of function including speech though she is still going for PT and such. Claims the doctor called it a miracle.</p> <p>Of course I had to bite my tongue the whole time out of respect but so wanted to call her out on the BS. But it relies so heavily on the assumption that God is the good guy and having any problem with him is in and of itself an evil action, and once you look at it without those assumptions it falls apart completely.
