The backlight is fully controllable through the utility in the antiX Control Centre.

I have confirmed that the setup in IceWM's
keys
file is correct (triggering on
XF86MonBrightnessDown
, and have tried looking for the button events in
xev
to manually map them, but no character codes are produced, just some sort of value matrix that I am unsure how to interpret.

Any help is appreciated, loving how fast this distro makes my T7100! I've gotten an old hand me down laptop and asked for advice on what to do with it (without yknow, upgrading any hardware) and they suggested to switch to Linux.

For context, this was literally my first introduction to Linux. I picked antix because it focused on older models, but later found out its better for intermediate users. I have some questions!

Q: (sorry if I get any terms wrong, I just got started yesterday and just picked up random shit)

(Q1) Since Ubuntu is also a debian based distro could I follow the tutorials on them for antix?

(Q2) I have an extra monitor thats connected to my laptop through HDMI, the display works perfectly but the sound is stuck at zero when I opened alsamixer, it could read the HDMI output but when it tests it says that it couldnt connect to the device?

(Q3) Should I switch distros? I was thinking of switching to something more beginner friendly, if there's even such a thing as that (looking at Lubuntu or peppermint)

Thats it for now, Im still learning on how to install applications or run them, drivers as well.

So far I'm enjoying the learning process, although it's a bit of a headache when you literally don't know jack shit lmaooo

   submitted by /u/Hello-JustPassingBy
[link] [comments]

just switched to antix from windows 7 and very overwhelmed

   submitted by /u/half_owlcat2000
[link] [comments]

try installing antiX net. it's been 20mins and nothing happens. help me please

   submitted by /u/ShailMurtaza
[link] [comments]

Customized XFCE on Antix Base

|
