i don't understand human existence

im grateful for my life and the privilege i have to question it but omg you have to be really ignorant to bring someone on this earth especially now ?! just to live you have to dumb yourself down, pretend half the world isn't suffering and the climate crisis isn't real. what kind of civilization lives like this?

i'm stuck in this loop ... for the past 2 years i don't understand how people pay rent i don't understand how people exploit themselves and live for the weekend i don't understand i don't want to be part of this. i've been on survival mode for as long as i can remember. i could sense i didn't belong and always felt like an observer. i always questioned my life, how did it feel before i was born? and i could tell my peers weren't as interested. i don't understand how philosophy is not taught in elementary. i was a kid burdened by those big questions and it just made me isolate myself.

now that i (think?) understand how the world works i just feel hopeless. i've heard absurdism could help, but i feel like it can reinforce that aloof attitude most already possess that enables the suffering that is lived today ... the obsession with the self has distorted the true possibilities of human existence. i believe we can all be happy and at peace. why has the world (white men) chosen violence. why did those men feel the need to kill anyone who got in their way, to conquer more land, to disrespect each other and nature. why so much suffering, and ESPECIALLY why bring more innocent people into this mess. i personally would have preferred to not been born.

edit: like was i truly put on this earth to fight oppression through my 1.5k word essays ?!? that's something else i don't understand, academia. i attend a university named after a slave owner ... we just have to pretend it's not a fact right? ... this post is all over the place i'm so sorry.

trying to find a stable point

I have been trying to find a stable point, something to hold onto, but I cannot. I am an Egyptology enthusiast, but is there anything stable about Egyptology? The field is always changing, though there may be some stable aspects, a general outlook, etc. But even if I gain a lot of knowledge in Egyptology, I know that my memory will soon start failing. There is nothing to hold onto in this impermanent and empty existence even though we wish to believe otherwise and search for some concept, thing, field that will act as a stable point or ground.

What’s stopping me from playing video games all day instead of trying to be creative and writing something or trying something new? What motivates you to keep toiling away in an absurd world? I can see myself doing just enough to survive academia and then get a job to sustain myself without providing society with anything uniquely mine or uniquely helpful. That sounds like a bleak existence. Do you feel this too?
